McLean, Boateng named Keyano Huskies Athletes of the Week
Keyano College Huskies Athletics announced today that Women’s Futsal student-athlete Addyson McLean (Airdrie, Alta.) and Men’s Futsal student-athlete Kofi Boateng (Toronto, Ont.) have been named the Keyano Huskies Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 8, 2026.
McLean played a key role in the Keyano Huskies Women’s Futsal team capturing the top spot in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference’s (ACAC) Northeast Division, going 4-1-1 throughout the six-game regular season.
“Addyson was instrumental in the team's performance this past weekend in the second north regional,” noted Head Coach Julian Carr.
McLean’s weekend began with a two-goal game against the Lakeland Rustlers in a 6-3 win, which included her scoring the game-winning goal and earning Player of the Game honours. The Huskies would then split their final two matches of the weekend, a 4-3 loss to The King’s University Eagles and a 7-2 win against the Portage College Voyageurs.
For the 2026 ACAC Futsal Regular Season, McLean scored three of the Huskies’ 25 goals, finishing in a five-way tie for second in team scoring.
Boateng played a strong role in the Huskies, clinching the top spot in the ACAC Northeast Division for Men’s Futsal. Boateng scored the opening goal of the game in a 4-1 win for the Huskies Sunday after a win and a loss Saturday.
“Kofi had a great weekend, especially on the attacking side, a consistent threat on the field,” Head Coach Niels Slotboom said. “He has really been able to find his own in the attacking third of the futsal court, and is getting rewarded for his effort by scoring almost every game.”
Boateng concluded the 2026 ACAC Futsal season with four goals in five games, helping his side claim the top spot in the division.
Both Huskies teams have now qualified for the 2026 ACAC Men’s & Women’s Futsal Championships, hosted by the Medicine Hat College Rattlers, March 20-22, 2026.
