Onyeukwu, Silveira named Keyano Huskies Athletes of the Week
Keyano College Huskies Athletics announced today that Women’s Volleyball student-athlete Amanda Onyeukwu (Piadena, Italy) and Men’s Volleyball student-athlete Arthur Silveira (São Paulo, Brazil) have been named the Keyano Huskies Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 23, 2025.
Both teams earned weekend splits in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) South Division this past weekend, winning games against the Medicine Hat Rattlers before losing twice to the Briercrest College Clippers.
Onyeukwu recorded 27 kills across the two games, also adding 16 digs, four blocks, and four aces from the service line.
“She was virtually unstoppable Friday night and followed it up with a 17-point performance Saturday,” noted Head Coach Tommy Sloan. “Our side-out efficiency was much improved this weekend and she was a big part of that.”
In her third season with the Huskies, Onyeukwu leads the team with 71 kills, 57 digs, and 22 aces. She’s also tied for the team lead with 11 blocks. For her ACAC career, Onyeukwu has recorded 336 kills, 243 digs, 67 aces, and 64 blocks.
Silveira was solid for the Men’s Volleyball Huskies in their weekend split, recording 32 kills, nine digs, two aces, and one block.
“He led us offensively in both games and kept us in our match against Briercrest,” said Head Coach Keegan Kuhr.
Averaging 4.34 kills per set, Silveira leads the Huskies and the ACAC with 126 kills. He’s currently second on the Huskies with 57 digs and 13 aces.
The Huskies return to the road this weekend for a single gameday against the Ambrose Lions. First serve in Calgary on Saturday, November 29 is scheduled for 6:00pm for the Women and 8:00pm for the Men.
