Women's Volleyball Huskies top Kodiaks at home
The Keyano Huskies Women's Volleyball team made good on their final home game of the first semester, sweeping the Lethbrdige Polytechnic Kodiaks in straights sets 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-14).
Taya McCarthy's return to the lineup yielded seven service aces, six kills, and five digs. Amanda Onyeukwu was second on the Huskies Saturday with five kills. Erika Box accumulated 14 assists while handling the majority of the setting duties. Drew Jacobson led the team with nine digs on the night.
Box also contributed three kills in the match with Gaby Buffong, Milan Schapowal, Saige Kehoe, and Klara Kubicka each adding a pair of kills.
In addition to McCarthy's efforts, four other Huskies have multi-ace nights. Schapowal had four, Kehoe had three. Onyeukwu and Buffong each had a pair as well.
McCarthy earned Player of the Game honours for the Huskies in the win.
The Women's Volleyball Huskies are on the road next weekend, taking on the Medicine Hat College Rattlers and Briercrest College Clippers.
