Men's Volleyball Huskies roll past Lions, end first half in North Division lead
The Keyano Huskies Men's Volleyball team concluded their first half with a statement 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-22) win against the Ambrose University Lions in Calgary on Saturday.
Arthur Silveira led the Huskies with a 13-kill performance followed by six-kill efforts from Rafael Parada Lima and rookie Logan Boucher. Setter Kai Rosnau dished out the ball to the tune of 31 assists while libero Kaylen Desmarais-Joseph led the team with seven digs.
The win brought the Huskies back to the win column and gave them an 8-1 record to close out the first half, owning the top spot in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference's (ACAC) North Division heading into the holiday break.
Saturday's win also marked the fourth straight-sets victory of the season for the Huskies.
On the ACAC's leaderboard, the Huskies are making their presence felt at multiple positions. Silveira lead the conference in kills (139) and kills per set (4.34). Rosnau is second in assists per set (9.33) and fourth in service aces per set (0.52). Boucher is third in the conference in blocks per set (0.85) while Desmarais-Joseph is fourth in digs (72).
The Huskies will return to the court in 2026, hosting the Lakeland Rustlers at the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre for their first matches of the second semester. First serve for Friday's game night is at 6:00pm and 1:00pm Saturday with the Women's game first followed by the Men's game.
