Men's Basketball Huskies ascend to top of ACAC for second time in three years
For the second time in three years, the Keyano Huskies Men's Basketball team are golden.
The Huskies continued their run through the best of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference's (ACAC) South Division with an 86-79 win against the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks.
Another team effort saw four Huskies finish the game in double digits with two other knocking on the door. Evan Meyer capped off his Most Valuable Player performance with 19 points and eight rebounds, two shy of his third double-dobule of the tournament.
Sammuel Nkassa dropped 17 points in addition to nine rebounds. DJ Haynes scored 15 and added six rebounds as well as four assists. Keenan Miller rounded out the quartet with 11 points.
Deandre Rowe concluded his strong tournament with eight assists, seven rebounds, five points, and three steals.
Efosa Omorogbe and Tafari Carefoote-Jones contributed critical minutes off the bench for the Huskies, scoring nine and eight points respectively.
Having won Friday's semifinal, the Huskies have already secured their entry to the 2026 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Basketball National Championship March 18-21 in Nanaimo, B.C. hosted by Vancouver Island Universaity.
